Our Story
Although the name Amtech Medical is new, the people and experience of our team began many years ago. Amtech is a result of a partnership between 2 separate businesses; Paradise Biomedical and Universal Medical Lasers.
Universal Medical Lasers (UML) was founded in 1985 by Herb Deigl. Herb’s vision was to assemble a team of specialized individuals capable of providing exceptionally high quality service to the medical laser industry.

UML, through many years of experience, developed capabilities to service Surgical, Dermatologic/Aesthetic, and Ophthalmic Laser systems. Since 1985, UML has been an industry leading laser service company committed to providing reliable and quality service and repair. Herb is a brilliant engineer and ran a very successful service business that thrived on the vision he initially set forth way back in 1985. As time went on, Herb grew closer to retirement and Wayne Delgado, one of our partners, became the lead engineer for UML. Wayne is also a member of the Professional Medical Education Association and provides laser education and support at the Laser Training Institute.
Paradise Biomedical was founded in 2019 by our partner Michael Field. Michael’s vision was simple; to provide 100% honest service at an affordable rate. As Paradise was started in June of 2019, not even 1 full year into the creation of the business, growth opportunities came to a halt due to the Covid19 Pandemic.

Determined to make it work, Michael took a different approach. Since growing our footprint to new clients became impossible, the only option was to provide a more comprehensive and complete service for the current clientele. At the time, the only services Paradise provided was maintenance and repair on diagnostic laboratory equipment.
Many of Paradise’s clients were Dermatology facilities. Paradise started developing capabilities to service more equipment within the Dermatology space. At first, that just meant autoclave sterilizers and exam chairs, but as time went on it turned into service of Medical Lasers. In September of 2020, Michael took an accredited class at the Laser Training Institute where he met Wayne Delgado.
From then on, Michael and Wayne began working with each other. For the next 5 years, Michael and Wayne’s relationship developed into a deeply rooted friendship and eventually the thought of becoming partners was brought to the table. Then in March 2025 an official partnership was created and the rest is history.
