Our Story

Although the name Amtech Medical is new, the experience behind it spans decades. Amtech Medical was formed through the partnership of two established medical equipment service providers: Paradise Biomedical and Universal Medical Lasers. Together, these organizations brought complementary expertise in medical laser systems, laboratory equipment, and nationwide technical service.

Universal Medical Lasers – Founded in 1985

Universal Medical Lasers (UML) was founded in 1985 by Herb Deigl, a highly respected engineer with a vision to build a specialized service organization dedicated to supporting the medical laser industry. His goal was to assemble a team capable of delivering exceptional technical service and reliable support for complex laser systems.

Over the decades, UML developed extensive expertise servicing Surgical, Dermatologic, Aesthetic, and Ophthalmic laser systems. The company earned a reputation as a trusted service provider, known for precision, reliability, and technical excellence. Herb’s leadership established a foundation of engineering excellence and customer-focused service that remains a cornerstone of Amtech Medical today.

As Herb approached retirement, Wayne Delgado emerged as UML’s lead engineer. Wayne brought deep technical expertise and became an integral leader in laser service and education. He is a member of the Professional Medical Education Association and provides laser training and technical support through the Laser Training Institute, helping educate the next generation of laser professionals.

Paradise Biomedical – Founded in 2019

Paradise Biomedical was founded in 2019 by Michael Field with a simple but powerful vision: to provide honest, dependable service at a fair and affordable rate. Shortly after its founding, the COVID-19 pandemic created significant challenges for growth, forcing many service providers to rethink their approach.

Rather than slowing down, Michael focused on delivering exceptional service to existing clients. At the time, Paradise Biomedical specialized in diagnostic laboratory equipment maintenance and repair. As relationships deepened, many dermatology practices began relying on Paradise Biomedical for additional equipment support.

This natural progression led Paradise Biomedical to expand its capabilities into dermatology equipment service, including autoclave sterilizers, exam chairs, and eventually medical laser systems.

The Partnership That Formed Amtech Medical

In September 2020, Michael Field attended accredited laser training at the Laser Training Institute, where he met Wayne Delgado. Their shared commitment to technical excellence and customer service quickly developed into a strong professional partnership.

Over the following five years, Michael and Wayne worked closely together, combining their strengths in laboratory equipment service and medical laser systems. Their collaboration grew into a trusted partnership built on mutual respect, technical expertise, and a shared vision for the future.

In March 2025, that partnership officially became Amtech Medical. Today, Amtech Medical represents the combined experience, knowledge, and dedication of two established service organizations, providing nationwide support for dermatology clinics, laboratories, and medical facilities.

Leadership Team

Michael Field

Partner • Operations and Growth

After high school, Michael enlisted in the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Santa Fe as a Fire Control Technician in the submarine service. He was responsible for the operation and maintenance of advanced weapons systems, including Tomahawk missiles and torpedoes.

During his service, Michael studied electrical engineering through Navy College, an academic program designed for deployed sailors. Following his honorable service, he entered the medical instrumentology field in 2016, focusing on diagnostic laboratory equipment.

In 2019, Michael founded Paradise Biomedical, which later became Amtech Medical. Today, he oversees operations, growth, and strategic direction for both service and equipment sales nationwide.

Wayne Delgado

Partner • Lead Laser Engineer and Technical Training

Wayne graduated from Florida Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 2000. He began his career developing test equipment for the oil and gas industry before moving into avionics, RF systems, and high-voltage power supply engineering.

In 2012, Wayne joined Universal Medical Lasers and developed deep expertise in dermatology, surgical, and aesthetic laser systems. Over thirteen years, he became UML’s lead engineer and a trusted service provider to hospitals and clinics nationwide and throughout the Caribbean.

Wayne also serves as faculty at the Laser Training Institute, where he trains biomedical professionals in laser technology and maintenance. At Amtech Medical, he leads technical training and field service development.

Tyler Harper

Partner • Technology and Systems

Tyler holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from Louisiana State University, where he competed as a Division I swimmer, qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Trials and competing in SEC Championships all four years.

After graduation, Tyler built his career in information technology, specializing in managed services, infrastructure, and project management.

At Amtech Medical, Tyler leads technology systems, operations infrastructure, and digital growth initiatives, supporting the company’s expansion and long-term scalability.

Alyssa Lobue

Partner • Service Coordination and Operations

Alyssa earned her degree in Medical Sonography from Nova Southeastern University in 2021 and completed clinical training at West Boca Medical Center and Baptist Health in Miami.

She worked as an ultrasound technician at Baptist Health before transitioning to support the rapid growth of Paradise Biomedical.

Today, Alyssa serves as a key Service Coordinator at Amtech Medical, ensuring efficient scheduling, communication, and operational support across service operations.

John Pleska

Senior Laser Engineer

John holds a physics degree from Bowling Green University and previously worked at Boeing and NASA on aerospace electronics and space shuttle systems. With over three decades of electronics engineering experience, John specializes in medical laser diagnostics, repair, and advanced system troubleshooting.

Barbara Monsees

Service Coordinator

Barbara ensures efficient service coordination, scheduling, and communication between clients and technicians. Her organizational expertise helps maintain smooth operations and exceptional customer service.

Service Technician
