ConMed MacroLyte™ Dispersive Electrodes — Adult, Pediatric, Infant & Premie

Price range: $220.45 through $567.84

Description

ConMed MacroLyte™ Dispersive Electrodes are patient return electrodes designed to safely disperse monopolar electrosurgical current from the patient back to the electrosurgical generator. The MacroLyte platform is engineered to provide broad skin contact, low current density, and consistent electrical coupling to help reduce the risk of thermal injury at the return site.

MacroLyte electrodes feature a flexible, conformable substrate and conductive foil construction that adapts to patient anatomy while maintaining uniform contact across the skin surface. This supports efficient current dispersion and enhances patient safety during electrosurgical procedures.

The MacroLyte family is available in adult, pediatric, infant, and premie sizes, with single or dual foil designs and with or without attached cables. This allows facilities to standardize on one electrode platform while accommodating different patient populations and procedural requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. What is a dispersive electrode?
A dispersive electrode (grounding pad) safely returns electrosurgical current from the patient to the generator to complete the electrical circuit.
  2. Why is pad size important?
Larger pads distribute current over a greater surface area, reducing current density and the risk of skin heating.
  3. What is the difference between single and dual foil?
Dual foil designs provide redundant conductive pathways and increased dispersion capacity for higher power or longer duration procedures.
  4. Are MacroLyte electrodes single-use?
Yes. MacroLyte dispersive electrodes are supplied sterile and intended for single use only.
